Ademir DePaula EYSA Trainer - Member of Coaching Committee
Ademir was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He remembers his parents commenting that he was playing soccer as soon as he began to walk. Ademir worked and trained hard because of his love for the sport. He played professional soccer with the best soccer players from Brazil who were on the 1970 World Cup Team in Sao Paulo. Such players included Pele, Carlos Alberto, Riverlino, Ferson, Tostao, and others. Ademir played professional soccer for Juventus FC (1968-1969) - Portuguesa FC (1969-1970) - Sao Paulo FC (1970-1972) - Santo Andre FC (1972-1975)
Due to a groin injury, Ademir was forced to stop playing professionally in 1975. He graduated from Saint Andrew University in Sao Paulo in 1975. He also graduated from Brazilian Soccer Coaching School (Federation Paulista de Futebol) in 1975. He then coached professional soccer. Some of the teams he coached were:
- SC Sao Caetano (1976-1977)
- Santo Andre FC (1975-1976)
- Santa Cruz Sports Club, Sao Paulo (1975)
Ademir received his Brazilian National License in 1986 and is the former chairman of the Brazilian Academy in Itatiba, Sao Paulo. Ademir has been involved with soccer in southwest Florida over 21 years. After moving to the United States, he became the chairman of the Brazilian Soccer Academy, Inc. in Florida. He then went on to become the head coach for:
- Semi-Pro Premiere Team in Cocoa Beach, FL (1988-1989)
- Third Division Men’s Mexican Team (1998-1999)
- Semi-Pro Premiere Team for Sarasota Futbol Club (1999-2000)
- Second Division Men’s Italian Team of Sarasota Futbol Club (2000-2001)
- Venice’s Division 1A soccer team (2002-2003)
Ademir has been a trainer at Lemon Bay High School and is a member of NSCAA as well as USSF. He is one of co-founders of Englewood Youth Soccer Association (EYSA), which began in 1989. He left Englewood in 2000 to become the head trainer for Sarasota Soccer. In 2005, Ademir became the head trainer for Venice Soccer. He decided to come back to his Southwest Florida roots in Englewood in 2008 and is currently the head trainer for EYSA. Ademir is very active in training and developing our players and coaches today.
